A Brief Description of the Workshops...

In an assembly style format, Bob interacts with students in two, fifty minute segments in the following areas:

Here Bob's associate, Jean Hibbs, interacts with children one class at a time to address several topics.  Jean is an experienced elementary school teacher and East Amwell Teacher of the Year - 1997.  The following areas are covered:

LES associate, Jean Hibbs, interacts with older elementary students one class at a time to discuss all of the above topics plus the following:

In one, 45 minute period, Bob takes one grade at a time to discuss with the students the differences between good and bad anger choices.  In addition, he demonstrates his effective model of conflict resolution based on a "win - win" concept.  The role of mediation, the art of compromise, and accountability are all included in this program.  All children participate in practicing the conflict resolution process.

The presenter, Jean Hibbs, and her little puppet friend, the Wizard of Good Character, will interact with the children and cover these areas:

A Person of Good Character

-          Makes good choices to help improve the world

-          Listens to others when they are speaking

-          Looks others in the eye

A Person of Good Character Acts in a Loving Manner by Being

-          Kind (caring, not mean)

-          Trustworthy (dependable, keeps promises)

-          Honest (tells truth, no lying or stealing)

-          Respectful (acts and talks nicely)

Specific examples will make these concepts clear to all children.

The world is in great need of responsible, law-abiding citizens. The following good character traits will be interactively reinforced in this program entitled, “The Sunshine of Good Character”.

-Trustworthiness- telling the truth, keeping promises, doing the right thing.

-Respect- treating others as you’d like to be treated, using good manners.

-Responsibility- Doing your best, being reliable, not blaming others.

-Fairness- treating others equally, taking turns, playing by the rules.

-Caring- being kind, loving, and considerate.

-Citizenship- Obeying rules and laws, cooperating with others, volunteering to make things              cleaner, safer and better.

In this highly effective program for middle and high school students, Bob shares the differences between good and bad anger choices. He also interacts by discussing loyalty and dependability along with how to deal with bullies as well as a strong anti-bullying segment.
